Lu Rou Fan

Ingredients

250g of pork belly
1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil
35g of shallots  (chopped)
1 cloves of garlic (chopped)
4 pieces of dried mushrooms  (diced)
1 cup of rice grains
240ml of water
Chew Kee Traditional Braised Sauce

How to cook

Lu Rou

Step 1
Cut the pork belly into thin slices, dice up the mushroom, chop up the garlic and shallots.

Step 2
Add cooking oil into a cooking pan and add in the pork belly.

Step 3
Stir fry the pork belly until it is lightly browned and dry.

Step 4
Add in shallots and fry it until you can the fragance of the shallot.

Step 5
Add in chopped garlic and mix them up well for about 30 seconds.

Step 6
Add in diced mushroom and mix them well.

Step 7
Add in Chew Kee Traditional Braised Sauce and bring it to a boil.

Step 8
Cover the pot with the lid and let it stew for 30 to 45 minutes.

Step 9
Lightly stir it and it will be ready to serve with rice.

Rice
Step 1
Wash the rice throughly for about 2 times.

Step 2
Add in 240ml of water (adjust accordingly to the amount of rice based on 1 cup of rice: 2 cups of water ratio)

Step 3
Put it in the rice cooker for about 30minutes.

Eggs

Step 1
Boil the eggs separately in a pot of hot water for 8-12 mins.

Step 2
Remove from hot water and place in a bowl of ice water for 5 mins before peeling the shells.
